MARIE GRINSTEAD, PHD

Founder & Owner

Marie is founder and owner of Botanical Processing, specializing in CO2 extraction science and plant-based product formulation. Marie earned her B.S., M.Eng, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville with a focus in biomedical applications.  Her previous experience involved laparoscopic medical device design and analysis in the minimally invasive surgical setting, with a specific focus in surgical stapling and vessel sealing and dissection. She has extensive knowledge in developing research plans and executing them with the proper techniques and documentation. Marie started the extraction lab while in graduate school, and her main focus has been developing and utilizing optimal extraction methods as part of producing safe and effective natural holistic alternatives. Marie formulates various products, extracting and blending botanicals of exceptional quality to magnify their therapeutic effects. She continues independent research driven by her passion for helping others. Her current study topics are heavily focused on proper mitochondrial function, metabolic therapies, and an overall investigation into alternative treatments in order to more effectively address chronic diseases plaguing our communities. She is grateful for the many avenues of opportunity to make a difference and share her knowledge and creations nation-wide. Enhancing connection is at the heart of her mission.
