MARIE GRINSTEAD, PHD

Founder & Owner

Marie is founder and owner of Botanical Processing, specializing in CO2 extraction science and plant-based product formulation. Marie earned her B.S., M.Eng, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Louisville with a focus in biomedical applications. Her previous experience involved laparoscopic medical device design and analysis in the minimally invasive surgical setting, with a specific focus in surgical stapling and vessel sealing and dissection. She has extensive knowledge in developing research plans and executing them with the proper techniques and documentation. Marie started the extraction lab while in graduate school, and her main focus has been developing and utilizing optimal extraction methods as part of producing safe and effective natural holistic alternatives. Marie formulates various products, extracting and blending botanicals of exceptional quality to magnify their therapeutic effects. She continues independent research driven by her passion for helping others. Her current study topics are heavily focused on proper mitochondrial function, metabolic therapies, and an overall investigation into alternative treatments in order to more effectively address chronic diseases plaguing our communities. She is grateful for the many avenues of opportunity to make a difference and share her knowledge and creations nation-wide. Enhancing connection is at the heart of her mission. Marie's product development and offerings specifically target these various areas at risk to encourage a proactive approach to vitality and health.

Consuming high quality foods should be the primary focus in order to get the nutrients our bodies need. Though, the data is clear regarding nutrient deficiency and poor metabolic health in the majority of the population. Marie aims to help prevent metabolic dis-ease from destroying our inherently balanced and beautifully intricate internal systems, from in-depth research into causes and solutions to developing products to support our bodies’ ability to adapt and manage modern stressors a little better with each dose. Her top research focuses are metabolic health, restoring proper mitochondrial function, preventing glucose excess (and thus insulin resistance, damage from free radicals, inflammation, DNA mutation, and chronic dis-ease) and counteracting internal toxins and deficiencies.

As a wife, mother, and botanical product development scientist, Marie understands a woman's journey. She developed a product formula for intimacy with a holistic touch.
